The very initial cases of the 2019–20 sudden outbreak of corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic was confirmed in the Indian state of Gujarat on 19th of March 2020. One of the two was from Rajkot and another was from Surat. The virus emerged from the Wuhan,Hubei Province, China and then on has been spreading throughout the world. The virus spread became so serious that even WHO declared it to be a national emergency.

However, our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi took some very regulating steps prior to the increase of number of cases in India. On the 19th of March,2020 Mr. Modi asked all citizens of India to observe a ‘Janata Curfew’ after which he said : ” Janata Curfew is just the beginning of a very long battle against COVID-19″ .
On 24 March 2020, a nationwide lockdown for 21 days was announced limiting movement of the entire population of India as a preventive measure against the pandemic. The lockdown was announced at the time when the number of positive cases of corona virus was approximately 500. A complete shutdown for everyone was announced wherein only emergency services,fire, police, transportation of important goods etc were kept in functioning.
Awareness spreading among people had started through social media, advertisements etc. Police force were deployed at various areas to maintain a check of lockdown. Various other steps were taken to enforce the lockdown against this fatal virus.

Steps Taken By Gujarat Government

  • The Chief Minister of Gujarat had a phone conversation with the patients cured of corona virus illness.
  • 1.59 lakh passes have been issued by the government to the vendors,workers working in supply chains and for small traders for their essential and daily requirements.
  • Cleanliness management and road side cleaning.
  • The state administration of Gujarat headed by Vijay Rupani has distributed nearly 8.95L  food packets to citizens who are in need.
  • Lockdown regulation by setting up teams of police officer at different local area.
  • For quick services the Chief Minister has also provided emergency services in the name of: ‘Emergency Helpline’ number 1070 at State Level and number 1077 at District Level
  • An Isolation Hospital with 1,200-bed has been constructed which is dedicated exclusively for the patients of novel corona virus , set up at the New Civil Hospital complex in Ahmedabad .
  • Approximately 66-lakh families would receive essential rationing through the public distribution system of Gujarat.
  • In order to maintain social distancing while distributing the resources needed by citizens and to ensure prevention of crowding government has acted by drawing distancing circles outside every shop and distribute.

  • A scheme of distributing two times meal every day to the homeless, aged people and  those living in isolation and destitute has been initiated Gujarat government.
  • For the Chief Minister Relief Fund announced to fight against the fatal Corona virus, so far the amount accumulated is, Rs. 27-crore which has been donated by individuals, religious organisations  and non government organisations from around .
  • Regulated check-ups by medical team in quarantined areas
  • Fresh fruits were brought into the state selling for citizens who are fasting and observing ‘vrat’ on the auspicious occasion of Chaitri Navratri .

  • Do-s

    1. Wash your hands properly and regularly for like 20 seconds, with soap and water or else you can use an alcohol-based hand rub (sanitizer).
    2. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue
    3. Stay home and isolate yourself from others at home if you feel unwell
    4. Try and avoid close contact with people who are unwell or have mild symptoms
    5. Cover your face while sneezing or coughing with flexed elbow in place of your hand
  • Don’t-s

    1. Touch your face if your hands are not clean and washed.
    2. Step out of your house for unnecessary reasons
    3. Stay silent after noticing symptoms of the virus

    Really Nice information for the virus and more useful for the individual to protect himself or herself .
    I think knowing about do’s and dont’s is a kind of medicine to fight agaist such pandemic..
