Of the five, Pingbits is based in Ahmedabad and Shradhanjali is based in Rajkot.
Pingbits is a messenger based application for mobile platforms. The app was developed by Aagam Shah and Jaydeep Solanki, both first-year B.Tech (Information and Communication Technology) students at Dhirubhai Ambani – Institute of Information and Communication Technology. “If you are talking about movies with friends, the app will show you the films, timings and theatres featuring the film,” said Aagam Shah. “If you are talking about meeting someone, your calendar will show if you have any prior engagements.”
Vivek Vyas and Vimal Popat, former insurance agents, found Shradhanjali.com in 2012. They initially did not have any technology background but gradually they developed their knowledge. “The idea was to provide an online platform where people can post photos and videos of their deceased loved ones. Others can see the tributes and pay their respects,” said Vyas. “We believe that it is the first-of-its-kind website in the country today,” said Vimal Popat. The duo wish to spend the money in tie-ups and promotions.
These start up ventures are surely going to help Gujarat further more in emerging in the field of Information Technology.
