“ZANZARI WATERFALL” is a scenic spot near Dehgam, in Gandhinagar district. Distance of around 75 km from Ahmedabad and 60 km from Gandhinagar makes Zanzari a perfect spot for one day picnic during rainy season. Zazari is the only waterfall in close proximity to Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
Zanzari waterfall gives you a chance to reconnect with the nature and lets you rediscover yourself. The Zanzari falls or jhanjhari falls is a chain of rapid water flowing from Vatrak River with the main water fall being 25 feet height. Zanzari waterfall is not a perennial waterfall, but water flowing from the rocky ledges during monsoons. The best time to visit this place is between August and September. Although, during summer the river declines to a stream but in monsoons this place is worth visiting. If you are a photography enthusiast, then you are definitely going to love this place.
You can use the state highway to reach the Zanjari falls. There is a temple before the falls. You can go directly to the temple by your vehicle and then to reach the falls you have to walk around 1.2kms. The road is very comfortable and you will not find any difficulty to reach the destination. Public transportation is also available to the place.
Accommodation:
As the place is located in a dense forest area there is no accommodation facility near the spot. Local people in nearby cities and villages can enjoy the place as a one day tour. But for the outsiders or people coming from far places, can find many hotels and resorts in Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad districts.

Zanzari waterfall is amazing place to visit during the monsoons. This place is a green escape for the people. The exercise of small trekking can also be done as you have to walk around 1 km to reach near the waterfall. The whole place is full of greenery and fresh and pure air. You can find a place and sit anywhere, by the side of water edge. This way people enjoy their one-day picnic in Zanzari waterfalls. Camel ride is also available on weekends. The cost of the ride is around INR 120- 150 per person. You can find small stalls selling packed foods like chips and snacks as well as Tea (CHAI) near waterfall.
No food is available near the site so for that you can take home cooked food with you. You can also take a mat along with you and sit and relax there. The cold breeze from the flowing water gives you an awesome experience nature.
Some negatives of the place:
The road from temple to the waterfall is watery and slushy, thus you have to be very careful while going to the place. This destination is not an exact waterfall like you would have imagined. But during monsoon, the water flowing from heights looks beautiful. Mostly the car parking is full if you visit the place after 10 am.
