Adventure Sports in Gujarat

Adventure Sports surely gives a sudden adrenaline rush amongst the youngsters. But nowadays people from all other age groups are also interested in adventure sports. Be it Zorbing, Scuba Diving, Bobsledding or Bungee Jumping people don’t hesitate from doing all these things. In addition to that many are interested in taking some professional courses for the same too.

Bestowed with towering peaks and mountains, fascinating rivers, challenging terrains and other natural marvels, India has become an epitome of adventure sports in the world. Be it on the east, west, north or south, the country has ample of options that can fascinate the adventure junkies.

Gujarat has a favorable condition for water sports because of its vast coast line. Para Gliding is also done because of the presence of mountain ranges. Other adventure sports options available in Gujarat are Rock Climbing, Trekking, Skiing and Surfing.

Trekking

There are many routes that can be opted for trekking in Gujarat be it the Saputara trek through the wild green forests of Banni. Abur is another hill trek which is ideal for beginners as well as seasoned trekkers. Dhrangadhra is another area for rough and tough trekkers. People also prefer the Aravali range for trekking trips.

Water Sports

Gujarat has many beach options for Water sports like Ahmed Mandvi Beach, Chorwad Beach, Nagoa Beach, Chakratirth Beach, Jalandhar Beach, Goghala Beach and Simmer Beach. Most of the Water sports like surfing, water skiing, jet skiing, para-sailing, sailing, speed boating as well as riding water motor scooters are available here. But Water Skiing is available in Mandvi Beach only. Diu is also another great option for Water Sports.

Paragliding

Saputara, Pavagadh and Junagadh are spots available for paragliding in Gujarat. Gujarat Tourism department often organizes the Saputara Paragliding Festival to promote tourism in Saputara. The paragliding activities in Saputara are managed by Dang Jilla Paragliding Adventure Association.

On an average, paragliding costs between Rs. 1800 – Rs. 2500 and Parasailing costs around Rs. 500 – Rs. 1000.
