1) Sachin, introduce yourself.

I’m a music lover, techno- freak and a Hollywood movie lover. Guitar is my passion. I’m currently pursuing MCA from Ahmedabad and also learning Indian classical music.

I believe in God but I don’t believe in all that stupid customs created by humans.

2) Can you tell me a little about your musical upbringing?

Everybody loves music right? The music in me came up all because of Atif Aslam. Initially I used to listen to his music and was crazy about his voice, his style and everything. He is the real rock-star, a man with a guitar rocking all the way and winning lots of hearts across the globe. I started understanding the meaning of lyrics behind his music. I was inspired and I was totally moved. In the year 2011, me and my family shifted to Ahmedabad for my college education. Luckily there was a music class near to my house. It was a great opportunity for me to start learning guitar. At that time Atif Aslam released a song named “Hona Tha Pyaar”. It has an amazing acoustic guitar music in it. Honestly this song and other acoustic songs of Atif aslam were the main inspiration behind my learning guitar. The song “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias also inspired me a lot. Today I’ve mastered the acoustic guitar and the main credit for that goes to Atif Aslam. He, his music and his way of playing guitar attracted me to learn guitar and today guitar plays an important role in my daily life.

Playing guitar gives me unique satisfaction, peace and energy.

Thanks to Atif Aslam because the first thing you need is INFLUENCE and then it becomes your PASSION. I would also like to thank my YouTube gurus as I mastered the guitar by watching YouTube videos.

I remember my first performance was the “Hona tha Pyaar” song that I performed in cultural fest at the St. Xaviers college. People really loved it.

3) You are an Atif Aslam fan. Have you done something crazy for him?

Yeah !! A Die-Hard Fan !! Still haven’t got any chance to do something crazy for him but yeah when there was Atif Aslam’s concert in Ahmedabad in the year 2011, I was the first person to book the tickets online. It was one and a half month before the concert and probably no one was knowing in the city about the concert. It was like pre-ordering the tickets. This defines the craziness and yes that was the first concert I’ve ever attended and I have no words to describe the fun, the craziness of that concert.

4) You can play but can you make music? Have you composed your own music? If yes, tell us about it.

One doesn’t simply play any instrument for so long without making/composing their own music! As a Guitarist I have composed music but I’m falling in short of lyrics to present my music in a form of a song. I wonder how amazing are the people who have knowledge of words and knows how to present them in the form of lyrics. I tried to write lyrics too but guess what, it sounds lame 😀 . Haha. The first composition always sounds lame right? Well musicians can relate to this statement. Well it isn’t that typical lame and who knows, you might get famous with that first composition.

5) Can you give some tips on Guitar selection to our readers?

When you are buying a new guitar, try holding the ‘F Chord’. The ‘F chord’ is generally hard to hold. If you can hold it easily, buy that guitar. Haha. I’m talking about the neck and fret-board of the guitar. I would recommend the beginners to get a guitar with a low action so that it can be played easily.

Remember the “PPP” rule while learning guitar.

  • ‘P’-Passion (you must have a PASSION for learning guitar)
  • ‘P’-Practice (you must PRACTICE daily, at least an hour daily)
  • ‘P’-Patience (one doesn’t simply master anything within few months. You must have PATIENCE in you. Learning music really needs patience.)

6) Consider a situation where you’ll be provided two options. You can be a guitarist Or a singer. Who would you choose to become and why?

Well I’d love to be performer, I mean playing guitar as well as singing, both concurrently.

7) Do you get inspiration from any other people except Atif Aslam? If yes, which qualities of them inspire you?

Yes there are many. I’d like to mention few of them:

I’ve been following the reality show named “Roadies” from its Season 2. I have seen all the seasons and I’m connected to that show. I love everything about that show. It’s a pure inspiration. Raghu Ram’s thoughts has changed my mind set. His attitude, his personality everything inspires me. He thought me to be confident and not to give up no matter what the situation is. I’ve experienced that being confident is sexy.

8) Would you like to give a message to our readers?

Be confident, it will really help you to get things done. Never lose hope. Watch movies like “Armageddon’ and “The Shawshank Redemption” which will make you learn to never lose hope.

I’m waiting for that day when I’ll be on the stage receiving a big award and giving a Thank You speech saying that “Mom, This Award is for you”.
